These are laying around in a box - besides chucking them into the trash bin, are there any uses for these relics?

Intel:
E7200 Core 2 duo

AMD:
K6-2 (from 1st computer, 1998!)
Athlon xp 2500
Athlon 64
Athlon 64 x2
Phenom

Phenoms can be eBayed for a few dollars, depending on which model. I'm sure you could get some money for the E7200 as well. Maybe $10.

Scrap the K6-2. Complete junk.

Keep the rest. The XP 2500+ barton is a classic.

thanks all for the input - the Phenom was a 9750, had lots of bent pins, and I've decided to make a bit of art using the chips, 20 shiny reflective platters that I've harvested from old spinners, and some DDR2 sticks...a mobile for my office is in the works.

Harvest gold from pins

Or eBay them for a few cups of coffee.

There's not enough gold on those to be worth it.

I sold some old Pentium Pro and 1st gen Pentium on Ebay a few years ago, got a couple hundred for them. It didn't take Intel and AMD long to get to the point where they weren't using a lot of gold on CPU's.
