Every once in a while someone asks about the action of this and that drug and what it does, be it your fancy but we don't know wtf it does SSRI or your common NSAID. Word of mouth is all nice and good but when you're actually taking something and the quality of your life depends on you I reckon you just might want something more. So here are a couple links to databases that contain far too much information. I decided to post them for two reasons. I never saw someone actually post them before, and I am currently trawling through them to write my drug report.

http://www.fda.gov/ The most obvious one. If you can sell it legally, it has to be there.

http://www.rxlist.com/script/main/hp.asp It is database of brand names and active ingredients drugs, containing rx listed drugs if I remember correctly. It contains everything from what it is how it acts who should take and who shouldn't, side effects and studies.

http://www.drugbank.ca/index.html Again a collection but this one is more orientated towards biochem, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics information. For the more detailed study.

http://www.coreynahman.com/druginfopage.html A database of drug databases. lots of info here.

A fair amount of you are still at university. This should allow you access to article databases such as PubMed. Search for clinical reviews, it will give you methods of the trials and results. Beware active neurons are needed to actually read those. Google Scholar is also handy.

Wikipedia is useful to get a general idea of what is happening. I won't go trusting it too far, but it usually offers simple to understand and concise explanations.

So yeah, maybe you'll find these useful for the next time you wonder wtf does that white pill actually do. There are a lot more others but that should get you the information desired.
