I have someone who owes a good deal of money. This person keeps telling me that he doesn't have any money yet. I'm tired of waiting and decided to let someone else handle it. I'm looking for any recommendations for collection agencies.

Quite a lot, in the four digit range.

If two of those digits are after the decimal point, as in $25.00, fuggetaboutit.
On the other hand, if you're talking about four digits before the decimal, say, $8000.00 then you've got a beef.
May I recommend the collection agency of Smith and Wesson? Or, for instant payback, you may threaten him with my naked mother in law. Trust me, when he regains his vision, and it make take a while, when he can see again you will have your money with interest!!

Unless you had a legal binding contract under the law a collection agency has no recourse to collect.

Check the maximum amount you can collect in small claims court in your state.

You are probably sol, but don't take that as gospel.

He may not have money, but he must have some collateral. Take whatever you can get till he scrapes up the money. If you have a $5,000.00 car and he has a $7,000.00 car, swap till you get squared up. or something like that. Also, get something in writing now just in case.
