they've been saying "this winter will be the worst ever" for like the past 5 years and we've hardly seen any snow around here compared to previous years before that (DC Metro Area).

Tell me about it. Although right now we're getting flurries. Not saying it's going to accumulate to anything worth while overnight though.

Not really. They continually reinvent the signs of global warming so that if it gets colder it's ALSO a sure sign of global warming.

I prefer the always popular "Bush did it!" reasoning.

An unusually cold winter is no more indictative of global warming that would be an unusually hot summer. That's not how it works.

And yes, this is a La Nina year, so this is not unusual either. Those of us out here in the NW are used to the year-over-year climatic variations caused from having a 13,000 mile expanse of completely open ocean right next to us.

meh, there hasn't been a good winter since 1996.
Which, incidentally, was the last major La Nina.

no it wouldnt.

It must be nice to have a belief system where every possible outcome supports it.

You mean Christianity?

One cold winter does not prove global warming, but global warming CAN cause lowered temperatures in the north. It's GLOBAL WARMING, not local warming. The fact that you can't recognize that is really telling.
