Great sound.. real hard, and quite consistent the whole way through the cd.

Thumbs up! If you have seen the commercial and like the song, or heard the single, get the cd.. the rest of it is just as good.

Consistent as in unoriginal rehashed repetitive crap? Yeah I agree.

I've listened to Cold for about 2 years now. I haven't gotten their new CD yet, but the single is... different from their old sound. However, I seem to be the only Cold fan who doesn't like the new single. Thumbs up I guess?

What do you listen to then? IMO Cold is one of the more distinctive bands in modern rock today...

::sigh:: ok. tell me why something that is "rehashed" is so horrible. being a musician, its hard to write songs and put them to music while making them sound good. most people write songs about how they feel so repetition is going to occur. If LordJezo likes it as do many others and it brings Cold a little bit of success, then who cares even if it IS repetitive or rehashed? ah well, sorry you didn't like it :(

I will listen to anything that I feel I haven't listened to 100 times already. The metal genre is drained, it's all been done before, and new life has to come from somewhere. This is why I've found myself listening to much more older stuff that is quite timeless. Kansas, Eagles, Sabbatch, AC/DC etc. Although I am still a huge metal fan, death/black usually. Kataklysm, Lamb of God, Candlemass, Mushroomhead, Opeth, katatonia, Type O etc. Although what I listen to doesn't really matter, but if I hear one more metal album that sounds like Godsmack, Cold, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Hoobastank, EVANESCENCE, etc, I am going to kill myself. Let's hear something I've never heard before already!

And drum, I'd rather listening to something that I haven't heard before and sounds like sh!t than listen to another crappy nu-metal band that uses the same formula over and over. Here it is...

Acoustic intro, leads into heavy riff, leads into chorus, repeat riff/acoustic intro, repeat chorus, it's over.

If that's your cup of tea, more power to you, I just get bored with it. *shrug*

Godsmack, Cold, Disturbed
This is not metal.
Linkin Park, Hoobastank, EVANESCENCE
Not even remotely metal.

So basically what I gather from your post is that you don't like all of modern rock and nu-metal. Just cause 70's and 80's metal is no longer mainstream doesn't mean you have to go thread crapping in a discussion about a band in a totally different genre from what you enjoy. Its like if I went into a thread about some rap artist and said, "this is unoriginal rehashed repetitive crap" without even hearing the album. Do I think almost all rap is unoriginal rehashed repetitive crap? Yup. Does my post add anything at all to a discussion about the artist? Nope.

umm yeah, music nazis that refuse to recognize something they don't like could be good music just annoy me. Nothing personal, not looking for a flame war...just needed to write that...

I'm not getting into an argument about what bands fit in which genre. The point is, it's all been done before, let's hear something new.

I love the new CD - I saw them last week with Finger Eleven, another great band. I actually liked F11 better than Cold that night for some reason - they sounded a lot better. Then again, it was my 4th time seeing Cold and other shows by them have been better in the past.

I think cold sucks in concert...the lead singer has too "muddy" of a voice to play well live. It just melds in with the drums and bass line to form an unidentifiable mumbled ball of sound.

I agree that there is a pretty general formula that may be used for quick hits. I appreciate bands who write their own songs. I don't mean lyrics, i mean both lyrics and music. The trouble is coming up with something that you haven't heard before. /your opinion dually noted\

I don't know about the album, but i think that "stupid girl" song is stupid. There's much left to be desired with the lyrics.

Cold's first disc blows the pants off 13ways, and presumably this new one as well.
I started listening to Cold when they appeared on the bonus disc with Korn's Follow the Leader, and m pleased they are starting to get some attention.

w00t for Mushroomhead. If you haven't seen them live you're missing something ;)
Worth a trip to Cleveland to see their Halloween show.
