Cold Sore or Pimple?

How do you tell if someone has a cold sore or a pimple? I mean, it could just be a pimple, right? Anything that gives it away?

I have never had a cold sore, so i was just wondering if its a pimple or something else. I mean, i do get pimples every now and then...

go webmd and check pic of cold sore

But i don't feel sick or have a fever and such, so i dunno. Its been there for, say, 4 days now.

Why does that matter?
