Cold medicine?

There's so much cold medicine out there...anyone have any recommendations? My coworkers take Cold-fX. It's supposed to stop a cold before it starts by boosting your immune system. Has anyone tried it?

The tests done on Cold-FX show it helps your immune system, thus the severity of colds is lessened, but nothing prevents colds. If such a cold prevention drug existed, the pharmaceutical industry would be ruined. I've tried Cold-FX a few times when I felt a cold was coming on, and I suppose the duration of the cold was slightly less, but overall I didn't feel it was worth the cost of the pills.

I do pretty well avoiding colds with just vitamins, lots of water, and trying to eat right! If that doesn't work, ibuprofen for a sore throat (and cough drops every once in a while!), dxm for a cough, and either pseudoephedrine or an antihistamine (depending on day or night) for stuffy/running nose and sneezes.

Just wack it with vitamins, fluids, and some generic otc cold medicine if it gets that bad.

NyQuil works wonders for the evening. 😀

i've had success with Cold-eeze.

haven't tried cold-fx nor airborne. but it's worht a try, methinks.

i tried cold eeze before and it had a rather meh aftertaste, though it did help a bit

ive found zicams cold relief to help quite a bit for a head cold. and tylenols chest congestion stuff to do me rather well for a chest cold.

and homemade chicken soup. mmmmmmm

I"m much better at swallowing pills than I am at eating candies or drinking liquids, which is why I thought the cold-fx sounded good. Apparently a Canadian health (Health Canada I think?) just gave Cold-fx their stamp of approval, too. I'd try anything to avoid getting sick!
