Pretty good for quick things. I use it for car stereo's and ecu wiring. Works just fine. I also have a conventional iron that I use for everything else. Works better. LOL!

It's great at the jobs it's suited for, it just won't handle every soldering need you might encounter. The other day I used it to fix the remote on my Jeep and it worked very well.

I have one.

I haven't used it much. It just doesen't compare to a regular soldering iron.

But, it's cordless.. and in a pinch, it could be very handy. But there's no way I would use it all the time.

I bought this soldering gun for $5 brand new from Fry's one day. I had about $6 left on my gift certificates, so it was an imulse buy.

I had been looking for a good Weller station, and this is no substitute. It is, however, a no mess, no fuss, rough soldering tool. If you want to solder one wire, one time, then this is an easy way to do it. I wouldn't trust it on small, delicate electronics.

It's just a mini arc welder essentially. You basically short the batteries, creating enough heat to melt some solder. Would be useful for car stereo stuff, where plugging in an iron SUCKS. However, for my PS2 mods, it has no use.

Well I would personally use it for car audio stuff.

Anyone have one they want to sell to me for cheap?

I've never owned a soldering iron or this product in question, but it totally sucks and you shouldn't get it.

I just wanted to point out that you are an idiot.

Why? Because he's never used it?

I've never used the Gator software, but I can tell you it sucks.
