Hey gang, I just installed a cold cathode light in my computer and it flickers a bit when the computer does operations. It flckers quit rapidly when surfing the net and also when doing regular operations like open folders and running programs. Does anyone else have this problem? The only thing I can think of is the power source is not strong enough, or this is a common thing. I'm running 2x80mm case fans and the cpu fan and have a generic 350 watt psu. It even slightly flicks when I move my mouse...bugging me a little but not a huge deal. Any thoughts would be most helpful...looks cool though!! (and its not the kind that has the sound option its just the regular type)

Hmm; what are you looking at when you notice the flickering? Are you watching the lights directly, or noticing them to the side? Also, what refresh rate is your monitor set to? I'm wondering if this could be the result of an optical illusion.

I'm positive its not the monitor, I'm looking right @ the light and it flicks when I use the browser etc. I'm sure it must be the psu. I'm building a new rig now and planning on getting the Enermax 450watt but I'm not taking this cathode light with me but rather buy a couple of new ones for the new system. This is going to be the wifes system and it's pretty much upgraded as much as its going to get. Hmmm...Hey Shinsa U said you have blue and black...is that black as in UV light? And if so how cool does that look in your system? I bought the black Antec case (cant remember the model off hand but that popular one thats all over the place) and I wanted to use a UV black light but I heard it doesnt produce much light but with the blue one with it sounds like a good idea!

Technically, it probably puts out plenty of light. Your eyes just can't see UV radiation. They only see what it causes to flouresce.;)

The blue light is very birght and the Black light is very dim. It doesnt enhance any partof the mobo or pci cards but I added some glow in the dark rounded cables and those are the only things that light up under Black light.

Basically, I have the blue hooked up to an external switch and the black UV light plainly hooked up with a switch inside the case.

Most of the times, they are both on but the Blue overwhelms Black light.
When I turn off the blue light with an external switch, It leaves the Black light on, making the rounded cables glow.
