Hi , when i boot the first time the computer in the morning , after it was shut down for about 7-10 hours i can hear a nasty noise in the case for about 5-7 seconds and after this the noise will never appear again until the next morning @ startup .
The noise is allmost the same like when you scan something with the scaner ,... the warmup noise or very close to this sound.

8K7A motherboard /1400 TB (266 FSB) /SK6 , Ystech 5000 RPM .
60 GB 7200 RPM Maxtor / 10 CFM HDD cooler
256 Crucial DDR PC 2100
Hercules Prophet II Titanium
3 PCI Cards (nic , Sound , Modem)
Toshiba 12X DVD
Floppy 1.44
2 X 33 CFM Exhaust ( SX1040 Antec fans)
Antec PP412X Suply

All those things boot @ startup .
Startup in bios : +5V = 5.5V , 3.3V =3.45V , +12V = 12.43V

Can somebody tell me what is the cause of this cold boot noise ?

Thanx a lot .

I'm thinking this "sound" is just your cpu fan , or a case fan . My cpu fan makes a bit of rough noise if it starts spinning after a long time of inactivity. Usually lasts a cpl of seconds then goes away.

take a can of air and blow out all your fans really food. Plus your chip set fan may be dying. Open the case and see if you can find where that noise is coming from when you start up.
