Cold bath?

Any of you guys taken one ever or just recently?

I did. Felt dam cold at the start but as my legs got use to it it felt a lot better.

Legs were destroyed from training yesterday. I hadn't trained in 8 days and it was a heavy session with lots of reps overall. Hard walking today and legs just felt battered today. I knew they were going to be sore seeing as the last 4sets my legs felt sore already. Teach me for not training during the xmas period much 😛

Legs feel a lot better now 🙂.

I think I'll have a cold bath every time I go heavy or maybe just everytime for recovery purposes.

bath tubs full of ice suck at first, but after you get used to them they are pretty awesome. Make sure to take glutamine as well, helps get rid of the soreness. Though, I still love a cold bath every now and again.

When I was doing hardcore running (14+ mile runs) we'd do ice baths for our legs to blast out lactic acid.

We filled up 55 gallon garbage cans with about 40 pounds of ice and then topped them off with water. Jumped in them and then stood there for 25 minutes. The first 10 minutes were freaking brutal.

But damn did it feel better an hour later.

If you really want to shock the hell out of your muscles, do an "icy hot" program where you dunk yourself in ice for 10 minutes, then flip over to steaming hot water for 10 minutes, repeat x 3.

That really makes things convulse.

I was once running a fever of 105-106 so my dad made me lay in a cold water bath for like 30+ minutes. It was incredibly cold and uncomfortable, but I did come out at like 101ish. So I guess it worked.
