Yeah, we can be big mad at this because the majority was so slim. Give big majorities and these edge cases tend to go away because there are more people to do political horse trading with.

Regardless, I'd take dozen Joe Manchins over a dozen Susan "I'm Concerned" Collinses.

Yes, the literal coal baron voted for the biggest climate bill in US history.

My wallet tells no tales. I can't see the damn doctor because the first 3,000 comes out of pocket. And if that doesn't work they pull the "we are not paying for that" card.

I got stuck with a $4000 medical bill in 2023 because they did not approve of the standard treatment. They needed the money to buy back stock.

After 1 of its executives was killed, United Healthcare got the message and is approving more claims.

Unfortunately, insane profits and stock buybacks are down as a result and now shareholders are suing led by Black Rock.
Stop voting for the people who like the status quo, and maybe your healthcare bills will go down.

You are such an ignorant fuck.. I guess I should be blaming Obama/The ACA for the $6,000 out of pocket I had to pay from a near $30,000 in total care costs, after insurance for kindney stones, from start to finish, that included surgical removal in 2013 (United Health). the hospital/surgical room (4 hours total time in the building) cost $20k alone. Oh wait.. that was 2 years before the ACA was even signed into law. Who should I blame for that, since it's clearly was not caused by Obama/ACA issue?

Now, in 2018, I had some heart issues, that included two trips to the ER, and a lot of testing... total cost of care, when all was said and done was over $40,000. I paid $250 out of pocket total because my current employer (not the same employer as in 2013) provided health plan (also United Health) which is 100% paid by them, is a cadilac high level plan, thanks to our union negotiators. How the fuck did I pay only $250 out of pocket if the ACA causes or rather forces as you imply, high out of pocket costs due to YOUR/MY plan deductables/coverage?

It's sad, you are so ignorant, you don't even realize that during your rant, you showed exactly who is causing what you are upset about, and it has NOTHING to do with the ACA.

Exception is not the rule.

I did not have to worry about denials or high costs prior to Obamacare. Insurers have learned how to game the system to their benefit. Luigi did not take that action lightly. He took action because abuse by insurers is widespread and malignant. They dont pay for shit if they can get away with it.

Socialize medicine and none of this matters.

Why don't you just move across the border to Mexico and get cheaper healthcare there?

Hell if you want even cheaper travel to Dubai, Turkey, India for medical tourism.

I have a MAGA neighbor who still thinks Obama is the devil and will not get Obamacare even though he qualifies for it. He went to India and got a triple bypass done for $6000 total.

Imagine the cost here..

First bold type: It's funny you say that while not realizing, You where the exception before the ACA. Most people where paying higher insurance premiums and higher out of pocket long before the ACA, with substantial increases per year. The increases where reduced after the ACA. They actually went down the first two years then they started to increase again, but at a slower rate.

Second bold type: You don't say! That's twice now you claim it's the ACA, yet indicate that it's something else, with you being more specific this time. It's baffling you are not getting the connection, and keep pointing the finger at the ACA.

It's not so baffling when you remember that he's a literal clown who cannot be taken seriously.

So what’s the big deal. Our wonderful loved capitalist system turns out to be managed by cold blooded monsters…. They are a reflection of our own ambitions.

Come on now, Colbert wasn't that bad.

:colbert:
Much like conservatives railing on California, you're full of shit when you try to make fun of the most successful in the biz.
Colbert has the most watched night show, and California is the 5th largest world economy on its own

I kind of liked him too when he was ranting about non political things.

But excluding frivolous law suits, boob jobs, weed and sex change operations, CAs ecomomy is only fair to moderate imo.

The California wine industry only generated $88 billion in economic activity in 2022, surely that's dwarfed by all the sex change operations!

Sex change operation is what 5 grand each?

That'd require 17,600,000 sex change operations in 2022.

So half of California's population had a sex change operation in 1 fiscal year??

More proof MAGA lies are rotting people's brains!

LOL no, more like $40k, but that's also insurance math so who knows the actual number.

LOL no, more like $80k, but that's also insurance math so who knows the actual number.

My wife was just showing me about hospitals overseas for SRS's recently.. and their fees weren't 80k USD.. not even close.

Then again with this administration and what it's doing to our economy.. 80k might be a steal in a year or two. :(

Actually, looking it up, seems like insurance paid a negotiated $38k of the originally billed $57k. Individuals will typically pay whatever their OOP max is for the year, so probably like $5-10k.

I am wondering how Brian Roberts of Comcast/NBC is holding out with MSNBC and SNL. I know that MSNBC is on the block, and tRump keeps calling Roberts out. Very sad to see CBS go so I hope things don’t get even worse.
