That's what happens when you try to use French with an English speaking population, and the English speaker doesn't realize retard has several meanings in use.
 
I would have thought that was hilarious and awesome. I've got mentally impaired people in my family too. I see no need to get offended on their behalf because of something like this.

Some people are just looking for reasons to go an a crusade I guess. It's that whole righteous indignation thing. I'm pretty convinced that righteous indignation is the most satisfying emotion in existence. At least that would explain the amount of it I see directed at useless causes. Coke should have told those people to fuck off rather than apologizing.
 
It's pretty retarded to think that you can put two completely random words together without making something offensive every now and then.

I'd have more respect for Coke if they would simply say, "look, it's a program that randomly matches one English word to one French word. We never even suspected that the program would eventually spit out an offensive phrase, and for that, we're sorry. But, to this family, we're not apologizing. This is a non-issue, and making an issue out of it is nothing more than you attempting to cash in on this unfortunate incident."
