Too high of a % is taken, it's not worth it. And typically, people who use those machines have a large amount of money in change which coinstar will take a large chunk out of. Wrap it up.

If you have alotta change it aint worth it. Have a nephew, niece, or cousin(preferably under the age of 7), who can count to 50, roll all of ur change and pay em 3 bucks.

Coinstar charges an 8.9% processing fee in the United States, a 9.8% processing fee in Canada, and a 7.5% processing fee in the U.K. For our United States customers, this means you'll pay approximately 9 cents for every dollar of coins counted.

It's like paying tax!

Oh dear, Zim beat me to it!

I gladly give them 9% since it means that I don't have to wrap up change and deal with the morons at the bank.

worth it for me. i usually have $140 in change... and i don't feel like writing my account number on all those rolls. yeah, i'm a lazy SOB.

If your bank makes you write your account number on each roll, then either you dont have a good relationship with the bank or you need to switch financial institutions.

i dunno, it's policy for my bank. same for my aunt (she is w/ some big bank too... they have their business account with them... go figure). Same for my moms bank. They want to know what account to doc or add to when they feed it through the machines.

I have little money anyway, so it's the only bank around that has free checking.

I think they're bs-ing you. Unless the US government has updated the law overnight, coins are money. You're depositing money.
