My GOD! I am amazed that a member of the generation that I despise (no offense to you...I don't know you from a hole in the wall) knows about the quarter on the string trick!!!!

Seriously!!! :Q

I used that trick to get free games on....READY?

A SPACE INVADERS ARCADE MACHINE! :Q *(TheEvil1 says "holy sh1t, you are OLD, MichaelD!!!!!)*

I didn't think anyone actually tried that old trick anymore as machines have gotten a lot smarter. Or, I should say, the people that design the coin mechanisms have gotten a lot smarter.

The only way you will get free washes is to break open the coin box. NOT to steal the money..allthough that is a nice side benefit...so you can toggle the switch that the quarters bounce off of on their way into the coin box, AFTER they pass through the complex anti-quarter on a string-mechanism that has thwarted your efforts as so far.

Don't do it. Your friends will rat you out. (People you meet in college are not your friends....trust me) Just phone Mom and Dad for laundry money. OR get a JOB!!!!!!!!

Good luck to you, Stinky Laundry Man.

well im actually a junior and am tired of paying for it and we got the trick to work on the dryer. the trick with the string. it just wont work on the washer. and since we don?t feel like busting up the washer that is not good idea. and i would say the machines here aren?t to sophisticated and don?t have much for anti string devices on them. its just getting one to work

i know last year couple friends of mine crossed some wires on threes so it didn?t need any money it just worked. but they fixed it so that cant happen anymore. Damn them damn them all to hell

yep.

of course, the downside of this is that is that machines are alwyas being used and i have to wait for some weird hour, like 4 am to do them when nobody else is using any of them.

well goddamm, I guess I'd be tempted to commit fraud too if they charged me $100 to use the dryer. ;)

hehehe well you know what i ment anyway. it is a big deal cause it usially costs me 15$ to do my laundry and thats worth comitting fraud over. the washers and dryers are so damn small that 3 T shirts and a pair of pants fills the damn thing to the brim.

How about hop into your car and find a local coin-op wash/dry?

You are already getting free drying...so its not that bad.

My dorm rips me off. There is a laundromat down the street I go to down. It's a two block walk, and I can't leave my stuff there, but it's worth it. I can usually wash every two weeks now...$4 each time.

i read in Maxim that if you stick panty hose on top of the quarters (assuming you put the quarters in the slots and then shove them in), it'll work.

i never tried it though. One thing i know, is don't put two loads of wash into one load of dryer. It'll end up costing more than if you just did them separate.
