Oh, Coheed and Cambria! I am going to see them next week. All of their albums follow a story, they are all concept albums. I like the song "Feathers" and "The Running Free", just to name a couple.

It's hard to believe the lead singer isn't female... it's even more of a mindfuck when you see the dude and try to put the voice to his look.

I was good friends with the lead singer\guitarist's fiance in high school. They come into town quite a bit. Grab their album Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV. Volume 1 has really good songs. One of my favorites is Wake Up.

i tried singing that song on Rockband.
I seriously have no idea what the hell I was singing. those were the most rambling lyrics with no discernible chorus. it was like trying to sing a novel or something.
the music is pretty kickass though, the lyrics blow.

Welcome Home is a great song. I really enjoy that album ("Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV: Volume One, From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness") and it's probably the best starting place to see if you'll like the rest of their music.

Honestly, I've never gotten into their other albums, but I do like Good Apollo...

I like them quite a bit and I think his voice works quite well with the style of songs they write.

His voice actually evolves as the albums come out. When I first heard them, I thought it was a chick too. :)

In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth and The Light and the Glass are Coheed requirements.

I posted pretty much the exact same sentiment a few weeks ago. It's like he stole the voice from someone else ala Little Mermaid.

I tried them out with Second Stage and didn't care for it all that much. Didn't really listen to anything else after that.

Off the top of my head:

Cuts Marked In The March of Men
Gravemakers & Gunslingers
In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth 3
Ten Speed (Of God's Blood & Burial)
The Suffering
The Willing Well IV: The Final Cut

no he can just sing really high sometimes. listen to Gravemakers & Gunslingers it's not nearly as high. Also in The Final Cut you can tell too at some parts.

lol... I had to open MS Word and look at my font names.... Calibri and Cambria are the new fonts Word defaults to... at least our installation here at work.

To answer your question though: I've never heard of them. :)

I'm glad they didn't do that tilting the head back and looking down your nose at the camera rock band thing for that pic.

Well, it was between that and standing around looking at stuff like they don't even care that they're on an album cover.
