Ok i bought CoH yesterday and patched it up to 1.7... but still have issues.

The game seems to crash here and there for no reason what so ever that i can tell. My load GPU temps has not gotten past 78*C, which is pretty damn good for a X1950, and my CPU temps top out at 41*C with chipset at 56*C. It is installed on vista.

I bought the game as i thought the demo was pretty decent. The game runs great at max everything w/ 4xAA also and 1920x1200 which surprises me lol. The crashes mostly comes from not in-game but between game like finishing one part about to load another. I have gotten everything from a full system halt, BSOD, and just stop responding.

Another note is that every, i really mean every, other software i have one my computer runs 100% perfect for hours. This includes Half-Life 2, AoE3, CAD software, EE software, Office 2k7, and many other little programs. So i am 98% sure it isn't my system that is the problem here.

Any ideas?

Thanks

hmm it seems if i set texture detail from ultra to high it doesn't crash... yet

so what kind system you need for ultra setting, 4GB ram and 1GB of vram? Its weird as it plays just fine at ultra setting in terms of FPS...

i think i might ask on the coh official web site

hmm well that clears that up:

The texture detail problem was a known one and supposedly fixed with 1.7. <axxed settings haven't crashed on my box since I patched, so that COULD mean that you need more than 500meg of video memory to run at Ultra in CoH.

Are you running in DX10? I read on the relic forum that the problem doesn't exist in DX10 mode... So i thought thats what i read.

Yes you need 4GB of RAM on a X64 system to run in Ultra... it's in the Relic forums.

OK, well then it sounds like bad programming to me. If you need a more performance it should not crash the computer it should run slow... But of coarse it does the opposite lol.
