8 O'Clock French roast, but it's been hard to find the past few years.

My fav right now is https://www.amazon.com/Lavazza-Caffe-Espresso-Medium-8-Ounce/dp/B001EQ5ERI

I'm usually a big fan of the dark roast stuff, but this med. roast has like a perfect mild taste. Almost taste like chocolate.

I roast my own, mostly single origin greens and almost always along the "Medium" roast range. Sell them at Farmer's markets as well.

digiram, you're tasting those notes because dark roasts pretty much kill any nuances found in various beans of any origin. It's basically burning the bean at that point. :)

Bonus for going light is it also has more caffeine.

Starbucks - Caffe Verona, I've been drinking it for a couple of decades now and I see no reason to change.

I'm not a coffee snob. Far from it. For supermarket brands:

Dazbog Russian Roulette. This is a company out of Denver that has coffee shops in the region, but their coffees are also widely distributed in grocery stores.

Safeway/Albertson's Signature Select Kona Blend. A nice, smooth coffee and a good deal for the price. I always grab a few bags when it goes on sale for $3.99 for 12 oz.

Right now the best I've been able to get without much thought is the Pete's single origin reserves (ethiopia yirgacheffe, costa rica tarrazu, or guatemala san sebastian) . Usually roasted pretty recently and at 1.20/oz it's not the most expensive. There's a local roaster that's really fantastic but I think it's upwards of 1.80-2.00 / oz

I got pretty hooked on brooklyn roasting coffees when my sister worked there and sent me some every so often, but it's really hard for me to justify spending $5 shipping every time I want a tin.

Jamaican Blue Mountain is probably the best I've had that I can remember, but normally I always have a variety that I pick from. Right now I have 3 Starbucks blends (Veranda, Pike's Place and Breakfast), Dunkin original, Germack's Colombian, Tim Horton's and lastly Maker's Mark Bourbon flavor which I usually make sure to always have some on hand. It's a great treat.

I've been ordering from FreshRoastedCoffee.com as of late, either one of their many single origin ones or Blackbeard's Revenge blend.

For the last few years Ive been buying Jose's from Costco...either Columbian Supremo or organic Mayan. (http://www.josesgourmetcoffee.com/). Last couple of months, after trying Dunkin's original blend and reconciling to myself that somehow this chain coffee tastes really, really good, Ive been getting that.

I do treat myself to some Mavis Bank Blue mountain a couple of times/year (http://www.bluemountaincoffee.com/). If money were no object, Id drink it daily!

Blue Bottle Coffee has some really nice beans. It's a bit expensive, though.

I usually pick up Equal Exchange coffees like Midnight Sun, Peruvian Fresh Roast, or Love Buzz. I like really dark coffee, though, so YMMV.

I've just got some of this stuff. Prefer the Hawaiian Kona beans though:

What kind of grinder does everyone use?

I just adjusted my Kitchenaid to give a better grind.
