Coffee makes me sleepy?

I do not really drink coffee, at all actually. But when I do it makes me drowsy and sleepy. Is that normal? Or am I from Mars. Or is it just because I do not drink coffee and the high I get is not what my system is use to?

Hmm I've had similar effects from drinking an energy drink late at night. Maybe the more tired you are the quicker your body metabolizes the caffeine, causing the "crash" far sooner?

but r u implying that if yes i am from mars? or if yes i am not normal? or...

i thought that cofee is a quick pick me up, but when that feeling is gone, typically you'll feel really drowsy afterwards

If you are looking for pickmeups just stay away from caffeine. You will form tolerance and eventually have bigger and bigger crashes to the point that the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages. I would suggest exercising and eating healthier. Fruits are great pick me ups.

coffee sucks unless you can just take little sips over one hour's time 😛 otherwise tea usually leaves me more energized. Coffee starts out with more kick but after like 20 mins I feel burned out. At least in my experience that is..

QFT. I drink 8 cups in the morning, and by the time I get home from school (out at 12, I start drinking at 7), I'm gone...Nice little 2-3 hour nap...

I've noticed that when I haven't had caffeine for a while and I start back on coffee I'll feel tired for about an hour, but after that I'm wired. The same goes if I up my intake from say 2 cups of regular coffee to 6 shots of espresso.

How old are you?

Stimulants in younger people sometimes have the oposite effect.
At least that's what they say about Ritalin which is a stimulant(much like cocain) giving to hyperactive children.

Another possibility is, your tweaked for a while and then crash and burn like a Mig-29 at a Russian Air show. 😛

Coffee works on MY terms, if I want to sleep, I'll sleep, if I need to be awake, well damn it I'll be awake on MY terms. Never really understood why I can sleep on 8 cups of coffee but I know I can, though I'd have to be tired to actually sleep, not like I'm going to have 8 cups of coffee after waking up and then go back to sleep after 8 hours of sleep.....

So you're saying that when drinking coffee one should stay away from large crowds of people?

caffeine has absolutely no effect on me. No lethargy, no hyperactiveness... strange. You'd think it'd be either one way or another.
