Installed a RevXtreme catch can a few months ago on my PCV line and have been catching some small amounts of oil regularly. Last time I drained the can, though, I got what looked like coffee coming out, and quite a bit too. I'd say about 1/2 cup or so. I didn't smell it but it looked like coffee with a bit of cream, and viscosity to match.

Any idea what it was? Hopefully it's not a head gasket issue.

coffee with a bit of cream

Typical symptom of water and oil mixed.

Pull the dipstick and see what it looks like. Or drain the oil and check it. It could be just condensation in the catch can.

You could also run a Boroscope into the valve cover through a fill or PCV fittings.

Normal as far as I know. Like pcgeek said condensation from the catch can. It was such a problem on some Subarus that Perrin routed a coolant line through the catch can to heat it up and prevent potential sludge buildup.
