And where is the story from the right wing site claiming these charges are made up to try and make him look bad? You know it has to be out there already.

I'm not 100% sure what assault entails, but it appears she was a wholly willing party in the deal. This is why I believe pay-for-sex should be legal. If the girl was 18, what's the difference at that point.

Did I miss where she was mistreated in a way?

Second sentence of the second paragraph in the linked article says the alleged victim is "under the age of 17."

While I agree, I think the problem was she was described as "under 17". I mean let's be real she was a hooker (they met on "sugardaddymeet"), but if she's underage, then even as a hooker, he's going to get raked over the coals for it.

Yes, exactly. So for his case, if he wants underage girls, throw the book at him.

I just don't agree with paying for sex being illegal. Hypothetically, he would have just gone to a brothel and payed for an 18 year old if that's his thing.

Yeah hopefully hookers become the next Marijuana and we get youth to advocate for it.

Actually, of all things... the whole #MeToo movement bullshit should be all over advocating for that.

Some guys get an extra thrill from tapping into the jail bait. Sometimes it works out poorly.

According to the website, you have to be 18 and older to be a member.
If this girl registered on the site then she obviously lied.
That website should have something in place to verify age.

The expectation is that anyone he meets was of legal age.

If he knew what her age actually was and still went ahead then guilty as charged.
If girl testifies that she never told him her age then this is one of those cases where I just don't have the words.

I don't know what Texas law is on this or what the deal is with that website is.
I'm not doing anymore searches on that site...I can tell you that much.

Case law has already settled that matter and determined that it is not a suitable defense. A minor can say they are of legal age, meet you in places where someone is required to be of legal age (like a night club or bar), or even present a fake ID to you claiming to be of legal age. However if that person lied, then while it can be a mitigating factor if you have a good lawyer, it is not considered a valid defense, and you're still guilty.

In the zeal to catch all perps, "I didn't know his/her true age" has been almost completely scrapped as a valid defense.

...advocating against the endemic, generational tolerance of rape and sexual assault is a "bullshit movement"?

She's 16 (underage)

"At the press conference, APD shared a few more details on the situation not previously included in the court documents. The alleged victim is 16-years-old and lives in Central Texas. Regarding her entry on SugarDaddyMeet, Cmdr. Officer said authorities have no reason to believe "anyone other than the victim" signed up for the site.

“The charge is sexual assault, and the statute says a victim under 17 is considered a child," Cmdr. Officer said. "My detectives have interviewed and spoke with this victim, and in their opinion if someone mistakes their age, it’d be because she’s younger not older.”

Cmdr. Officer added that the allegations against Wilson would constitute a second degree felony, which is punishable by up to 20 years and a $10,000 fine."

You'd think he'd be smart enough to verify ID when meeting someone on the Internet. At least go for the "she showed me fake ID!" defense.

I wonder how many girls on that site are registered by sex traffickers taking a cut? Isn't that what happened with backpages?

For someone so concerned with freedom, this idiot sure gambled stupidly with his.

I know it's hard for Dump supporters to find dates, but damn, maybe don't pull a Roy Moore? This is why Rush goes to the DR.

The guy is on the run in taiwan?

Why not? Thanks to the interwebs he can endanger lives from anywhere on the globe. And it's not like he has any concern for authority given that he already defied a court order to remove the files.

You guys want gun control? Make it so any type of assault means you lose your privilege to own a gun.

Guys like these are more likely to use a gun to kill than other factors.
