codegen cases

I don't have one, but I have seen it in stores. I've also seen one modified and entered into an online contest. Apparently, they are hard to keep clean:

I like Codegen's model 6057 in silver alot more. Especially after seeing this picture that shows how the front intake fan is visible if lit. More pictures here. The construction on these is what you'd expect for a budget case. Sturdy, rolled edges and adequate room to work inside. Good luck.

P.S. If you (or anyone else for that matter) decide to purchase a 6057 and want to add a case window, remember to swap the side panels. That way the stupid vent holes won't interfere with the installation. This is true of many different cases.
 
Codegen cases are cheap and also insanely cheap constructionwise. The metal in the cases I've worked with is very thin, they have lots of sharp edges too and very restrictive fangrilles (have become a bit better in the newer models though).
And they have the most underpowered psu's (if you get one with an orignal CG psu) I've ever seen, the cheap ones in ATs recent roundup - which they say is very bad - iis far above the CG psu's when I compared a few cheap ones (had to build some rigs for some friends) a while ago.

That has been my experience, also. After assembling and reassembling a system in mine a few times, I now have a much better understanding of why the guy that gave it to me didn't want it. 😉
