Had a Codegen case with 300W PSU,
both are POS.
My old Duron system on Enlight case with Enlight 250W is 100% stable, after moved to this case and this PSU, become 100% unstable. This Codegen 300W PSU is about half the weight of Enlight 250W PSU.

Anyway, it's $0 after rebate and rebate from Ubid, ok.

What can you expect from a less than $30 400W PSU?
There are also $20 Linkworld 400W PSU.
Such super cheap high W PSU all are POS, scam, they don't really output 400W.

If you don't want to get risk of sudden burn out of all components because of the PSU burn out, use the same amount of money to buy a good 300W PSU instead of a lousy 400W PSU.

I had a 300 watt Codegen PSU, and it's currenlty collecting dust on a shelf. I found that my voltages were not very stable, and at times the computer would lock up or restart. I now have a 350 watt Enermax and it's NEVER let me down.

what psu would you suggest for these specs:

XP2400+ w/thermaltake 7 hsf and 2 case fans
geforce4 ti4200 64mb
120gb western digital w/8mb buffer
lite-on 48x12x48x
the only usb component is receiver for mouse

thats all the stuff that really matters when considering a psu, right?

edit: i know the cpu can run @ 2100mhz so i might overclock to that much and i havent messed around with the video card yet, but i do plan to overclock it if possible.

Sparkle PSU's are also good. The 350W model reviewed at Toms's Hardware Guide put out 450W, so they are underrated.

Depending on how soon you buy, you might want to watch for Techstore to have the SLK3700AMB in stock again. They were listing it for $49 plus about $22 shipping, and that includes an Antec SL350 power supply PLUS a 120mm exhaust fan (there's room for a 120mm intake fan too! :Q). Linky-link For $70 shipped, for that kind of quality + 3-year warranty, it would be hard to beat.
