What do those here that have experience think of this ? I signed up and received an invite. I don't really know what to think about this .... if true then I might go for it as after 25 years of labor / truck driving my back is gone.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) A new program launching Thursday intends to set up thousands of Oregonians with a free coding education and potential job in the states technology sector.
Code Oregon, a product of online learning platform Treehouse and workforce investment board Worksystems, will soon offer the free service to 10,000 residents of Multnomah and Washington counties, all in an effort to better equip them with an in-demand skill set.
The partnership will work like this: the 10,000 selected to take part in Code Oregon will be taught OS, Android, HTML, CSS, WordPress, PHP, Python, JavaScript and Ruby. Worksystems will then assist the programs graduates with leading tech jobs in the area.
And according to the Treehouse team, Portland is ripe for the picking, with more than 700 technology jobs currently open in the metro. Most of the jobs start at $45,000-$70,000 with no degree necessary.
Initiatives like Code Oregon help people find high-paying, rewarding jobs more quickly, said Ryan Carson, co-founder and CEO of Treehouse. We want to start the Code-to-Work movement, which will take someone from no experience, to job-ready, to a rewarding career all without a degree and zero experience. The rules are all changing. You just dont need a Computer Science degree any more to get an amazing job in the tech industry.
