[code][/code]?

I was just recently in the programming forum trying to post an extract of my HTML & PHP code to get some help when I realized that there wasn't a code tag for me to put my source in. It's not a big deal, I can just use the quote tag, but I've seen a lot of other forums with a code tag that'd colourize your code and keep it's indentations.

Is there not one here, or am I not seeing it?

I didn't even know that was there, haha. 🙂

I think a code tag would be usefull because you can put the code wherever you'd like in the post.

Just walked in to say the same thing. Thanks talyn00 for pointing to the button.

Unfortunately the button only exists when replying to a topic in the SOFTWARE - APPS, PROGRAMMING AND GAMES forum. I wanted to use it in the Networking forum. It would be really helpfull to access it everywhere.

A syntax highlighter would be pretty hard to implement due to the different syntax of programming languages. Although jedit is open source, and the syntax highlighting is easily available, it would be interesting to see it implemented in a .net forum.

BTW: That would be cool Zuni 😀

BTW#2: Programming Forum! 😉

Suggested several times before. For some reason they seem opposed to adding tags that would insert < pre > and < /pre > HTML tags, even though it should take about five minutes to do and would be INCREDIBLY helpful. :disgust:
