I'm getting a Code 10 error message on my secondary IDE channel where my Plextor is the Master ... again. In Win98se under Device Properties my secondary channel has a nice yellow exclamation mark on it and a Code 10 error message. The burner is not recognized fully now. In Nero it recognizes the Plextor as an "image recorder" but that's it.
CloneCd won't burn either.
I can't seem to figure out the source of the conflict although i've tried pretty much everything. Uninstalling the secondary channel, uninstalling my burn programs, swapping around components in every combo from the Primary to Secondary to Master to Slave ... and nothing works. This has happened lots before and the only thing I can do is reinstall Windows. Even then the last time I got this error I reinstalled Windows and it was stable for about 5 mins. Reinstalled again and it was stable for 10 mins. Reinstalled again and it's been stable for about a month and a half.
It blew up 10 mins ago so here I am asking for help from the Anandtech gurus.
