COD4 CD Key

Anyone know where i can legitimately purchase a VALID COD4 cd key? Punkbuster is retarded and banned me for something i had nothing to do with so i need another cd key.

yeah, who said anything about hacking. He could have been banned for playing with a pirated version. (note he says "purchase" a valid key. Not re-buy a new key. suggesting he has an invalid key that he didn't buy.) [just adding fuel to the flame ]

Um, if he was playing a pirated copy, why would he come in here trying to find out where to buy a CD key? If he's willing to put down the money to buy the game, he should just buy the game.

What happened, exactly? There might be a process to appeal a ban, but I wouldn't expect anything. Punkbuster is rather stupid, however (I've been kicked?luckily not banned?twice, and I was not doing anything that even resembled hacking either time).

I purchased the game from best buy, got banned by punkbuster because they suspected me of hacking. Mind you, they have no demo or PBSS to prove it so i dont give a flying shit. Already tried to appeal the ban with a deny and have been emailing back and forth the jackass known as MavRic that told me through the email that "In a case like this there is no screenshot or demo, only the damning evidence of you getting kicked by punkbuster. I will hear no further discussions on this matter for I have done my job correctly." Yea i bet....

So i guess the only option, as you "helpful" guys have stated is to buy another game? I thought there were websites that just sell cd keys?

Relax, accusations are only accusation, no need for tempers. I have been kicked by PB before because I hadn't configured it correctly but afterward it worked fine. However, if you are suspected of hacking is there more to the story? Plenty of people use aimbots to rise the ranks fast.

On a side note, I wish people would stop jumping while fighting in COD4, this is NOT counterstrike.

Getting kicked by PB and getting your key banned by PB are two different things.

Perhaps in the future you will constantly record demos to prove your innocence. Lesson learned eh?

AFAIK, most games do not have the ability to simply purchase just licenses. If you find one (a website that sells just the license key) that does, I would consider it suspect.

You sound like a defensive hacker type. Either that, or your attitude is so bad that you weren't able to talk your way out of a permanent ban. Either way, I'd rather you not get another CoD4 key. It'll contribute to everyone else's enjoyment of the game.

I did not apply a no cd patch as i have the CD since i purchased the game. I thought i remember hearing about a legit website that actually sold the keys themselves. Guess not...

I'm pretty sure talking to MavRic over at TWL is like talking to a brick wall. He just repeated what he had already said and he stated that "he had done his job correctly". I don't know where you come in to call me a jerk or the "defensive hacker type" what ever that means.

Did you try using pbsetup.exe and updating/fixing pb? If not maybe there is another admin at that server or maybe a server host type person could help? Also it would really help us out if you would tell us what exactly is happening and/or why someone might accuse you of being a hacker. Are you just "that good" at the game?

And seriously, telling people to "sign off and delete their accounts" when they try to call you out doesn't do any good at all. In fact, if "everyone" here is so judgmental and has nothing to shed light on your situation then why ask? Apparently post count DOESN'T reflect maturity. Nobody thinks they are "bashing" you from the outset, they have just been around the internet to have seen lots of stuff like this, making them a little jaded.

There is no place you can legitimately purchase a key..besides buying a new copy. You could buy someone's copy but even technically that is a gray area.

If i was in the OP's shoes i would go out of my way to buy a second hand copy, be it from a friend who no longer plays or be willing to try several second hand copies and hope the CD key works. You get to play the game and the company doesn't get any extra money from bending you over and screwing you long and hard.
