COD2 smoke grenade shows no smoke

I have a Leadtek 7800 gtx and dfi lanparty and 2 gig of ram. Everything else runs normally in the game. I hear the hissing sound of the smoke grenade but never see any smoke.

I'm running 81.94 drivers. I've tried uninstalling them and running other drivers with the same problem.

Does anyone have any ideas for what I can do?

Thanks.

I'd set the vid card to high quality and go into the graphics option in CoD2 and set Zfeather smoke to everything.

Thanks, DAPUNISHER.

I have set the quality to high quality and set "soften smoke edges" to everything. I don't know what "zfeather" is though.

It's funny, I see all other smoke, dust etc. Since I have a crappy moniter (1152 x 864) I've got all graphics settings maxed.

Hey... you can see through smoke and you're complaining? ;)

Did you try reinstalling the game? Maybe some of the textures got messed up.

I have only played the demo, guess the full version is different. Onlyu other thing I can think of is to make certain it isn't using an older DX path, IOW be certain it is using DX9 not say DX7.

Yea, I'll try reinstalling the game.

I did force it to run in DX9 just incase that was the problem but the same thing persists.

Before taking that more drastic measure I'd try the CoD2 profile in the drivers for shats&giggles, ya never know?

Darn, I wish I had a 7800GT. And a computer to support it with.

COD 2 has the best smoke grenda i have ever seen : )
Check your graphic setting/update your driver or roll them to later one
Check nvidia site for list issue with your current games
if all fails... then cry and go buy an xbox 360 with COD2 :)
