How did it "own" your PC?

the 'regenerating health' is just as realistic as finding random crates of bandages to heal bullet wounds...
anyways, it adds a lot to the flow of the game, just playing and not having to hunt the nooks and crannys for little green crates. I'm on veteran and get owned enough that it still presents a challenge

Is there an FPS that simulates the effects of wounds? For example, slower movement, impaired vision, poorer aim . . . That would be interesting, but probably not good for gameplay.

It killed me at 1280x1024, max settings 4xaa, 8xaf on a 7800GT.

Both of you guys are lucky. 25-35fps on 800x600 max settings on a 9800Pro 🙁
That was the Demo

I never said anything about realistic, but I find that it made it much less challenging when I could just sit back for a minute heal up and then press on.
I will probably still end up picking it up, just not anytime soon.

Wha??!! How did you get it to run that good on your 9800Pro??? I have a 9800 (non pro) and the game runs at 5 fps on 800x600 with some details toned down. Its beyond unplayable in DX9 mode. Of course on DX7 mode it runs at like 100+fps.
I don't understand why it runs so poorly.. I mean F.E.A.R, Quake 4, Serious Sam 2 and The Lost Coast level for Half-Life 2 all ran fine for me (max details on all @ 1024x768 res, 8X AF except for F.E.A.R which I ran @ 800x600). Is Call of Duty 2 that good looking to warrant such hideous performance? I know my pc is low end (XP 2500+, 1gig ram, 9800np) but jeez... less than 5fps???!!

You can always mod it.
I won't even try to run CoD 2 yet. My computer will get pwn3d also if I try. Sucks though because the clan I'm in just got our CoD 2 server running. And they were testing it out and having a fun time with the cookable nades mod. I wanted to play 🙁 *cries*
