Stupid idea, they are just going to fragment there own market as obviously people who pay and have the items/maps will not be able to play online with those that do not have the items/maps. This is just retarted.

How the fuck is it the "best and worst times" for Activision? Because they discontinued the never-ending parade of guitar hero games? They make record breaking profits and we're supposed to shed a tear because they axed one of their played-out cash cow franchises? Give me a fucking break.

LOL @ comparing it to NETFLIX.

I dont use netflix, but still value it way higher than 2 map packs for COD. I have zero doubt they will get more $$$ per map pack via subscription fee than they do now, and I will hide behind the stats that other games provide for FREE as a justification for the cost increase

They label it an hyper-realistic game, I laughed.

so much of this.

It's quite amusing the amount of armchair commentary and bashing when there are barely any details released on the actual service. We don't know how much it will be, how it will affect the DLC content(whether it will be a part of the service or something purchased separately). From a business standpoint, it's a great idea, and I can see a hardcore fans of COD being all over this.

I hear what you're saying, I just don't see many console folks going for this and I'm going to say after the no dedicated server arrogance for PC players this has a high probability of sucking.
