I wouldn't say awful but it is no Battlefield, Crysis or Far Cry. It looks a lot worse than most pc games coming out now. And I got sick of Cod with its huge price tag and every game is too similar for me.

Well, that is on Xbox One, not PC. It doesn't look so bad. Considering it is a console game that will be running at 60FPS on consoles, besides the character models looking a bit clunky, it looks good enough.

- The lighting looks likes too diffuse based. In essence they have added shadows over the top of the world but the rest of the lighting looks relatively static.
- The shadows are hard edged.
- The textures are often quite low resolution.
- Angular edges are showing the classic PPAA shimmer
- The snow looks pretty poor, again mostly because the lighting isn't working right and they haven't even bothered to make the snow material behave and reflect light as it should, it looks like its made of plastic not snow.
- There is no SSAO that I can spot, if its there its well hidden. Most of the lighting in the world is static and I can't really see enough foilage and such for SSAO to be a benefit but even so doesn't look like its there.
- Weapons fire shows minimal lighting effects on the world. Its there but its not very realistic, seems to be just distance based.
- Particle effects are quite low detail.
- the fire looks pretty bad and simplistic.
- I agree the animations look stilted and limited in comparison to todays games, the deaths are a very limited set of possibilities.
- World size is quite small.

All in all technically the game looks like it was made in 2008 other than the global illumination being used to choose the lighting for the world. Nothing here that an old GPU couldn't handle, this is not a next gen game in its use of modern techniques and capabilities.

If you hadnt told me what game it was I would have assumed this was a new DLC for black ops 2.

looks EXACTLY like every other game made with that milked to death IW engine.

Same animations with new textures and same poor game mechanics.

Looks exactly like the last COD game I played a few years ago. These games are fine, but I am shocked they are as popular as they seem to be.

This title is a blockbuster, but its success is confined to consoles AFAIK. The Battlefield playerbase on PC dwarfs Call of Reskin and that is all that matters.

Heck,we pc gamers might just freaking hate this series of games but heck obviously some people just like the way you can get into it and just know your movement, controls and overall gameplay hasn't changed much from the last one.

Betting most people just like the series for the fact there is new maps in each game and maybe for those people that is just enough.

The animations look horrible to me. The last few cod games didn't look as bad as what I see here. The characters don't even look like they belong in the world. I can' describe it exactly how I'm seeing it, but it almost looks like the characters are cartoons like Borderlands placed into a call of duty level. They just don't fit, and the jarring and stuttering animations emphasize the fact to my eyes.

They actually brag about their new animations but they pale in comparison to BF3's animations.

No doubt, there is always room for casual games for casual gamers. I don't think anyone is knocking that.

The criticisms of the game in this thread are primarily tech-related and I think they have merit. This is a game that will gross a billion dollars and it looks like it was put together by interns.

Some of the animations are hilariously bad.
