COD: Black Ops mod tools on the way

Queasy

Treyarch's Community Manager Josh Olin announced via Twitter that "Mod Tools are in development. More info to come in the future, stay tuned!"

My question is...if the PC community still has problems with connecting and everything else wrong with Black Ops. Will they care about using the mod tools?

Our gaming clan is 30+ strong, and none of us have any issues with Black ops, at least with connection. We still have issues with ineffective anti-cheat measures, over-done air support, and several other "features" that make us want to pull our hair out.

However, every one of us is on the edge of our seats in wait for the mod tools. COD4 stayed fresh FAR longer than it would have without them, and we're hoping for the same from BO.

Can they mod it so that it doesnt stutter like crazy at any setting? I dont know how the people that run it without problems do it, but the stuttering for me is terrible and the graphics still look like crap.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 and all the earlier COD games run fine on my system, so there is something very poorly coded in Black ops, and the patches made marginal improvements at best. I managed to finish single player, but haven't gone back to the game since.

Different fixes worked for different people for the "stuttering" issues. Some google'ing should turn up a number of possible solutions such as adjusting CPU priority, which you shouldn't HAVE to do. Also, 3arc has patched the game several times while they worked with GS to alleviate the problem. If you haven't been back in a while, I'd suggest giving it a go.

Also, don't be so quick to blame the coders. I know some of those guys (not *necessarily* at 3arc) and when they send out bad code, they know it....they're just given no choice. "Send me what you have." are words that send a coder into hysterics. It should have never been shipped that way....the paying customers, in effect, became the beta testers...and that's pretty f***ked up.
