COD: any way I can get burned?

make sure they guarantee collection. I had to make a trip to gainesville when the shipper did not collect the COD on an Amiga 3000T. They stated they only act as agent, not guarator.

We got the guy to pay though.

Separate time I sent a $1500 Martin HD28....the guy worked at the shipping center and didn't pay the COD (when I called the center he answered, I asked if it was him and he quickly hung up....calling back to talk to someone else I asked if "Joe Dumbass" was an employee...he was)....he ended up paying and got fired over it.

So COD can have risk...laptops are probably the #1 riskiest item for buying and selling.

I dunno. The only time I had a problem was once when the UPS guy had pilfered a laptop. Made a claim, and all was good.

Is this a sell you made over the AT FS/T forums, or ebay, or...? B/c if it is an AT trade, you could always get a member with higher heatware to escrow the trade.
