COD and X-Fi

This may go here. I know that a few of you have played COD1 and have the X-fi cards. I have the Extreme Gamer card and just picked up COD1. It sounds really great except that when I have EAX 3 enabled, reloading my gun/ footsteps have reverb on them like they are happening behind my player.

Has anyone dealt with this before or have any suggestions?

I don't recall having those issues. Update your sound drivers and make sure you're running the card under gaming mode.
