CoD 4 graphics problems

I've been battling this issue since I bought the game on steam. I'm not sure if my graphic issues are driver, hardware, or what.

Usually the game will start out ok in single player or multiplayer, but after a while the graphics basically become corrupted, as you can see from the screen shots. Sometimes it will even make the card crash. I've updated video and sound drivers, even uninstalled and resinstalled. Temps appear to be fine, never over 64 C.

Anyone have any ideas or experienced this?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+, ATI x1900gt, m2n-e, 2Gb ram, Vista 64 bit.

Any problems with other games? Anytime I've seen that its been a heat/video hardware related problem but 64C should be fine. I wouldn't rule out corrupted textures but it seems unlikely given the variety of artifacting/corrupting you're seeing. Could be drivers, maybe try different revisions and see if it helps at all.

Have you ever overclocked the card before and if so are those programs still installed? (could be an old profile loading up with an unstable overclock)

I have Counter strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Portal, HL2, Team Fortress 2, but no problems with those games. If I play the game at 1280x1024, it will happen a little sooner, but normally I play at 800x600. I've tried using a few different drivers with no better results. I'm just hoping maybe another driver update or two will sort things out.

Hmm. Is AA turned on or off?

I had a problem with COD4 in which my graphics were corrupted when I zoomed in with the weapons scope.

I managed to get half way through the game without using a scope, untill the level in which I had to use the stinger.

I found out that I had to turn on AA in order to fix the zoom / game corruption problem

AA is on. But I have this problem with and without the scope.
