Cockatiels!

I am babysitting my fiancee's parents' cockatiels for a week while they are on vacation. There's one grey one and one yellow green one. Anyone else here have birds? Any advice on what to do with them all week? Just let them sit? I think they are somewhat used to being out.

Since they are cockatiels, and assuming they can't escape the room, I would probably let them out. You can try picking them up if you want. Birds like to clean people's hair in my experience. And since they are such a small bird if they do bite it won't be so bad....my dad has an Amazon Grey. That thing nearly took a chunk out of my shoulder once so I tend to talk to him through his bars now.

Edit: I sooo can't spell

They're quite content to sit on your shoulder and preen you. You will get poo'd on though. They also enjoy gentle mist baths from a spray bottle. I had one that liked the back of her head scratched.

After they are plucked, remove the gibblets then braise with a nice orange marmalade, then bake for 2 hours at 400 degrees.

Are their wings clipped? If so, leave them out 🙂

Their wings are clipped. They are both sitting on top of their cages now. They were making some noises as I walked out of the room but now they stopped.
