This was just announced yesterday and I was wondering if anyone knows any more information about the product. The sweeteners are the same ones that are in coke light so i'm wondering if it tastes more like coke light (which is soooo much better than diet coke).

It would be an instant success if it's a zero calorie drink and tastes like C2. I personally like the taste of diet coke, but I hated it at first and I know a lot of people that can't stand it.

Coke light - is that C2? I thought that was a 50/50 blend of regular/diet (C2).

Hopefully, they won't market it like they did C2.

Marketing guy: "Hey! I've got a great idea! Let's sell C2 in packs of 8 for more than we sell a regular 12 pack of Diet Coke or Coke Classic! That'll really get everybody to buy it!"

Dang! I thought it used splenda. Argh! I hate falling victim to marketing shenanigans. Oh well, it still tastes good!

Yeah, but it is supposed to taste different than Diet Coke. The only thing they'll share is the 0 calories.

Pepsi has done this with Pepsi One. Pepsi One does have more sweetness to it than normal, though it's got a weird chemical thing going on.

C0 will not taste as good as C2, because I should think by now that we can all agree that diet drinks _do not_ taste as good as non-diet. Yeah, they're ok, and they are all I drink, but still nobody has found a sweetener (including splenda) that replaces the beautiful scumptuousnous of sugar.

Coke lite and C2 are NOT the same thing. not even close. Coke light is not sold in the US, only in foreign countries. Its like diet coke (no calories) but tastes sweeter, more like regular coke. I much prefer the taste.

Canada, at least, had Pepsi Max, which I think was 1/3 calories of normal pepsi, but I can't quite recall. I'm always interested at different products available in different countries.

You just described C2.

C2 has a strange aftertaste though. Not as bad as Diet Coke but it is still there.

C2 isn't doing well, is it? I am not surprised. People want no-calorie drinks, not low-calorie, and 75 is still a lot for somebody on 1500 calories/day. Hopefully this stuff will be good, because the only other splenda cola (diet rite) is worse than urine. Just foul.

Yup. I've had Coke Light in Europe and love the stuff. I've always told my girlfriend that I can't believe they don't sell it in the US....

C2 did poorly because Coke sold it in packs of 8 for more than you could get a 12 pack of Coke Classic or Diet Coke. If you're a consumer, which would you choose?

They at least smartened up and cleared out the 8 pack inventory (my wife bought several packs for $1 a pack a while back) and are now selling C2 in 12 and 24 packs.

except for the fact that C2 has 75 calories and both coke lite and diet coke have none. Pretty big difference mr thread crapper.

Actually the new Pepsi One that came out a few weeks ago (around here) now uses Splenda. They are the ones in black cans instead of silver. I personally don't like it as much as the old Pepsi One but it's ok and should appeal to people who want Splenda and no other sweetners.
