I'd tend to agree. I think it's what they eat. Snakes. Saw a thing on discovery about them. They really are much faster and can avoid the snakes strikes. I think they even have some amount of immunity to the venom.

Haha. THe mongoose owned the cobra in the last 10 seconds of the vid.
 
Not seeing it in the wild, and interference on the demonstrator's part at the end, kinda destroys the magic.

I have seen some documentaries and nature channel stuff on the mongoose. They are Bruce Lee fast.

Sometimes I feel bad for deadly venomous snakes too.

You know what, I realized just now that my expectations are simply way too high. I'm expecting some incredible backflip moves/jumping off walls/face jab crazyness from the mongoose to confuse and dizzy the cobra until it goes in for the kill. That one just kind of bites its back as the cobra kind of tries to bite the mongoose.

Snakes are part of the Mongoose diet, so I tend to think that the snake was fighting a losing battle.
