Cobra IDE Round Cable

I just bought one of these round IDE cables, and it has a grounding strap? What am I supposed to do with the grounding strap when I connect my CD/DVD and hard drives?

Connect it to one of the screws inside the case. Whatever is closest and easiest to reach. It's just there to give you a direct ground to the case.

You only bought one? I just bought all three from CrapUSA. What morons they are at that place, I mean who charges MORE for the floppy cable? I paid $15 a piece for the ATA cables, and then they soaked me $20 on top of that for the floppy. What a sucker I am. I just wanted them right then and there, and you know what they say about impulsive purchases.

Thanks for the heads up. The only reason I bought that floppy cable for $20 is because I couldn't find it at either BB or CompUSA, and when you said you got yours at Circuit City, I went and took mine back and got it for $10 at Circuit City. The lady at CompUSA asked what the problem was, since the package was open and the cable was slightly used, so I just told her the truth. "you guys charge double what the competition charges for this item". She laughed and gave me a full refund.

I just got the cheaper silver/copper braided cables from SCV, even though the braiding doesn't do anything w/o grounding, but hey they're dirt cheap 🙂
