Cobalt LS Rattles

This isn't my car, its my brothers. But it's about to be 1/2 mine so now i have a reason to care.

Anything over 35 mph the right front wheel starts to vibrate/shake/rattle. You can hear it and feel it easily. As the speed increases the wheel seems to rattle even more. Tires have been rotated and balanced. No idea what else could be wrong with it.

Its a 2007 Cobalt LS

may be the rotors are shot due to somebody incorrectly torquing the nuts on the wheels

yeah no kiddin, unless he's packin massive miles take advantage of the warranty but if it's due to the rotors they may claim that you screwed up the oil change/rotation if you did it yourself. and if they did it then they won't claim any faults probably. i hate dealerships.

Not sure on the warranty.. For some reason my brother is a lazy piece of shit and is too lazy to deal with it (hence why I am)

Its not the rotors, nothing was changed before this started happening. It was fine one day, the next it just started doing it.

I'll check on the warranty too

uh, warped rotors cause a vibration while braking. if this is occuring all the time above 35, it's a wheel/tire issue. either it's not balanced properly (could be just off, or could've been counterbalanced by a 'tard), the tire's out of round, or the wheel's bent.

an electronic balancer reading zero does not necessarily mean it's not going to vibrate.

One of my friends speculated that its a bearing in the right side of the front axel..

you could have a bad hub bearing, yes. if you veer from side to side does the sound change pitch?

Yes. It gets significantly worse if i turn left. But nearly goes away when i turn right.

pertinent info right there.

most likely a hub, then. it's a whole sealed assembly that bolts to the steering knuckle. should be covered under the 3/36 warranty (which afaik is bumper to bumper on GM's?).

ever thought about trading it in? that car will give you loads more problems down the near road
