Coaxial continuity testing

Gents,

I have a coaxial issue. This is a newer townhouse and the coaxial cable inputs have not been labeled.

There are 7 coaxial inputs on the ground floor (standard coxial connections). Not connected to anything.

I need to find where each of the wires goes to in the house. In particular which one goes to the master bedroom which is 4 stories away.

I have always used a multimeter, but the distance makes that almost impossible.

Is there a cheap way to test which one goes where?

I think that I can connect the center pin to the screw connector and then use a multimeter on the the other end. Would that work?

thanks, that is what I was thinking. I'll get one of my buddies to short one side then I'll use the continuity testing mode of my multimeter on the other end.

It should be easy. I actually tried this on a three foot cable and it worked, just hope the wire is intact in the walls 😉
