Coax issue

Today I ordered an xfinity internet package from comcast. Tomorrow I will be going to a service center to grab the modem, or as they label it "self-install kit". I currently have directv whom have patched into all the pre ran coax in my home. My question is.... will i have to locate comcast's cables outside of my home and run my own coax into a patch, or, can i just splice the preexisting coax which my satellite television is utilizing?

That is a problem. You need a tech install, IMHO, not a self-install kit. Did you tell Comcast that you have DirectTV currently?

Agree. A self-install kit is for people whose house is already wired with cable from that provided (like from a previous owner or whatever). If the Comcast cable line has to be physically hooked up to your house, then you really should get a tech.

I have a Comcast line that runs to the home, the issue is that DirecTV has commandeered all the coax that was ran during construction. I can attach photo if that helps.

A Comcast tech would install a splitter that will do the job. I have had Xfinity cable, Internet, and land line for several years. It replaced an earlier Comcast cable TV, and it required a different splitter.
