Hello, I need to be able to input TV signal (analog) via USB or firewire and stream tv to the screen.. Big thing here is I need a device that will work with slower computers.. aka need something with low CPU util.

Ideas?

How slow? A 333MHz is the minimum for Hauppauge's products. Anything with USB2.0 ought to be more than fast enough. Just watching TV takes very little CPU time really, but you certainly wouldn't want to be doing anything else while watching on a slow machine, and a slow machine can't handle the PVR functions with a non-hardware encoding device.

Anything too slow to just watch TV isn't likely to even have USB1.1 ports.

Just check Newegg's listings for others, probably cheaper ones available, and the system requirements should be easy to find.

Hmm.. Yeah, I look at the 'recommended' specs and .. they just always seem to be off from real world numbers. I keep reading people'ss reviews.. and it seems some take much more resources than are 'recommended' .. I guess I should just go to Best Buy pick up a Hauppauge (thanks for that recommendation! ) and try it out for myself. But if anyone knows of a specific model that is -very- low CPU, let me know.. Becasue this computer will be doing other stuff that is already taking up ~85% cpu util (2.8gighrtz computer P4)

Thanks :)
