coating a concrete floor

Has anyone here coated a concrete floor, like in your garage?

I have a floor in the laundry room I'd like to cover, it still has some glue from the tiles I ripped up. What do I use to make the floor clean/porous enough for good adhesion?

Did you like the results after you coated it, and what did you use (like a 2-part epoxy, etc)

get a heatgun and scrape up all that glue.. then use something like rustoleum's garage floor epoxy...

Behr makes a concrete stain that is available at Home Depot. Many colors are available. Once you have scraped up the glue, you might consider using some form of acid wash on the floor to ensure it is thoroughly clean before painting. When do you get around to painting/staining, please ensure that you have enough ventilation in the area where you are painting as the fumes can get pretty bad in closed-in areas.

Yes, definately wash wash wash the floor... It's the only way you're going to get it to stick.
 
I was thinking more of a coating on which you could drop a quart of oil and easily clean it up, but there are some good suggestions here, thanks !
 
Insturctions:

1. Clean floor with degreaser
2. acid etch floor
3. use epoxy paint.
