all 23 pages read...thanks for killing my morning productivity.

It was a great read so far as the guy isn't even close to finishing. Caveat, if you have the desire to just ride or drive somewhere and get away from it all; do not, I repeat, do not read his thread. you will want to hop on a bike or cram into your car and go.

the writter does have some great lines of wisdom which make it even harder to resist traveling.

Agreed. Tons of insightful comments and observations about everything from life, to bikes, to women, it made me want to hop on my bike and ride more. I haven't been on it at all this week... :'(

Great thread, now I need to go look out the window instead of at my screen, just read all of it in one sitting.. I will continue to follow his journey though.

Why did the 1 suck (post #16)? I took that road from San Carlos all the way to LA when my 337 was brand new. The best part is between Monterrey and SLO. He blew it...

Knew a gent who in 1974, along with a friend who rode a BMW R75/5, rode a 1974 Honda 450 4 cylinder bike from Alexandria, VA, down to FL, along the Gulf coast westward to CA, up to WA and then along the Canadian border to Maine and back down to VA.

When he got back, he admitted it was a mistake taking such a small bike.

Great find, thanks for the link!

However my growing desire to have a bike again is only being intensified by reading that thread.

This exact ride report is titled "coast to coast on an italian supermodel" on ADV rider, which is where I've been following it, it's a really good thread.

On another note, do not go through those if you have a desire to ride but don't have a bike....you will purchase one.

Marked for later. The thought of making that ride on a ducati sportbike hurts just imagining it.
