I can go in as an E-2 or E-3 at bootcamp, graduating to E-3 or E-4 on completion. Does anyone have any tips or ideas about the programs?

If you join the Coast Guard, you'd be stationed close to home correct? 😕
 
I would be stationed at most 50 miles away(I live near a major port) if I do port security I may be deployed for Harbor Security in Kuwait(not Iraq mind you) for up to 6 months. Army reserves can and will get deployed for 9 months +6 months of training to Iraq.
