Pickings seem slim right now, my buddy and I finally played through Borderlands and we need a new game but I don't know any to pick up with strong co-op. Preferably something with a storyline type co-op.. L4D is like the bare minimum (hence I don't really want to bother w/L4D2..), something like Army of Two or Gears of War are better for a shooter type, or some Diablo II/Titan Quest/Dungeon Siege II type game.. seems like Xbox 360 has been getting all the co-op games..

Is there anything coming out soon on PC or some game I probably missed? Really any genre is good, I don't care too much for RTS but Age of Empires and Age of Mythology were awesome so if anyone has some suggestions.. thanks :)

L4d2 is great, if you like the first one the second is better in every way.

Well, there's certainly not a good story, but Serious Sam: The Second Encounter HD is an awesomely fun mindless coop shooter. Not too bad at $20 either.

Oops, sorry, thanks for the links.

My only problem with L4D was it seemed pretty quick to play through and also not campaigny enough. Army of Two was just on my mind cuz of playing Army of Two 2. It's actually fun with a buddy and the aggro system is interesting so, I dunno why all the hate for it.

The first Serious Sam was pretty fun and we played the hell out of the R6 games back in the day so we'll check those out too.

Saints Row 2 is fantastic in co-op mode, though you do need to connect to the GameSpy network thing to do it. It's a fantastic game, though it does not seem to like Crossfire very much.

L4d2 offers alot more replay value than the first. More special infected types make VS more interesting. And the mutations every week add a differnt mode to try every week so there is replay value there, and if the mutation is a big hit like realism VS they will add it perminatly to the game modes.

I had a better time playing borderlands with a few friends than I did playing the L4D series.

Dungeons and Dragons Online
Guild Wars
Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst

Rise of Nations is a pretty fun RTS.

L4D and L4D2 wont appeal to the normal Run and Gun crowd (halo, MW2, BF, etc) L4D is all about teamwork and not about score, or lone guneman tactics. The game can be amazingly easy if played with true teamwork, and brutal when not. Of course the diffucilty level if below Expert is do-able with the bots pretty easy, no need for a human.

There is no doubt the campaigns are short, and limited, but the diffrent paths, the AI director willl attack at differnt times forcing you to move different ways, etc. Then there are the gameplay mods, realistic, survival, collection, etc...

Seconded. Has a good story too, which is what the OP wanted.
