Cooperative mode in PC games, what are the best games /titles out there?

Hopefully where you can actually play thru the game(s) in 2 player co-op mode?

I played Vietcong, and they only allowed a few random missions to be played in co-op mode

anyone got their best choices?

Ghost Recon (+expansion packs). You can play through all of the campaign missions in multiplayer coop mode, in any order, in addition to other missions/maps.

There's a mod that lets you play Half-Life cooperatively. I should probably play that with a bud, since I never played single player Half-Life. I think it's called Sven-Coop.

Here's some I've played coop with friends in the past.

Diablo I & II
Neverwinter Nights
Dungeon Siege
Rise of Nations
Battlefield 1942

I can't beleive no one mentioned Operation Flashpoint and it's two add-on's Red Hammer and Resistance. Think of this game as a combinations of Ghost Recon with BF 1942. Semi-current weapons of today(the games is suppsed to be taking place in 1985) with large maps you can go and explore ( several kilometers worht) plus the ability to get into just about any vehicle you see on the map.

Hidden and Dangerous Deluxe. It's even available for free download now that H&D2 is out.
Does the sequel also have Coop?

Not yet. The already planned expansion pack will include it though. The game is worth the purchase on the single player alone. It's a much, much improved version of the first game. Excellent graphics and somewhat unique gameplay (nice combination of stealth, 1st and 3rd person action, vehicles...and lots of other stuff). Plus the already included multiplayer is a lot of fun too. Co-op will be awesome when the expansion is released.

Oldschool quake1. Actually I'm pretty sure there are a few coop qw servers still up.

Edit: Actually if you have HL there is this really good mod that is for coop play. It's called sven. You can play with something like 16 other people and you have to work together. It's real fun.

Serious Sam 2 was the best I've played. Put it on maximum difficulty and let the insanity begin... 😀

I enjoy playing Unreal, Serious Sam, and Serious Sam SE in cooperative mode. These three games are hard as hell playing by yourself but are fun as hell cooperatively.🙂
