CO drivers suck!

Proof

People talk about California drivers. But to me they've always been quite predictable. Basic skills are present as a rule. But not here in CO.

They can't merge onto the freeway.
They run more red lights than anybody I've seen.
They can't drive in snow.

Here's a great example:
In March the bridges on the way to work iced over. Traffic stopped on one bridge and when I hit my brakes I lost traction. No big deal, just pulse the brakes until stopped. I told some natives at work about it and they looked at me like I was friggin Mario Andretti! "You can stop like that?"

The pic above was on my way back to work from lunch on Thursday. Near Lincoln and I-25 in CO. I didn't see any blood or bodies. This is a large-ish intersection with lots of lanes and signals. Someone obviously thought they could run the light. Typical.

At least twice a week there's an accident in this area.

 you haven't ever driven in downtown Miami then, now thats bad traffic! The majority of the people on the road are illegal aliens that don't have drivers licenses and drive like they're still in their 3rd world country.

I agree with you. I was just in CO in May and it confirmed what I had always known anyway. Whenever I see a CO license plate I stay the hell out of their way. They simply cannot drive.

When I was in Colorado last year on a family trip I saw something that scared me sh!tless. Well, not so much saw, as was nearly driven off the road. We were driving on a 2 lane backwater type highway(the kind with dotted yellows for passing). This jerk was driving 50 in the non passing zones then hitting 70 on the yellows. My family was in 2 different cars, and my dad passed him. We had 2-way motorolla radios for communication and he told me when I was clear for passing him.

I pull around on a nice and long straight section, and the mofo I'm passing floors it. I'm in an automatic 4 cylender Alero and I floor it as well, though not nearly as effectivly. A car shows up comming the opposit direction. Fvck. I've got my rear quarter panel to his front quarter panel now, hitting 85mph, and the oncomming car is comming up QUICK. I hit 90 and I'm almost infront of him, the other car is getting closer yet. 95 and I finally have enough room to get back into my lane, and then immidiately the azhole drops way way back as he slows down to 50mph again.

Scariest experiance ever. My road trip in Califonia was actually some of the most relaxed driving I've ever had. I drove worse than any of the locals I saw there, because I was a lost tourist 🙂

I got behind a dumbass the other day who thought he could merge on to the highway at 35mph, most cars were doing 70... I was so pissed at him, he put my life at risk.

I've seen several people STOP right at the merge point! Too scared to accellerate and merge. Scary.

There are some scary short on ramps onto I25 in Denver - but stopping is never the right answer.

But in general, I've never seen as many people run lights an signs as they do in Colorado. East of town it seems that stop signs are completely optional. In Colorado Springs they hired several motorcycle cops a few years ago whose primary job is red light enforcement, but I still see or hear about acidents all the time where somebody obviously ran a red.

This confirms what I've been experiencing my entire life. The people of Colorado are some of the friendliest people in the country- that is until you put them behind the wheel of a car.

The problem with the majority of people in Colorado these days is that they've been imported from California. So really, you can say that Californians are terrible drivers. You can now also say that Coloradoans are terrible drivers.

Welcome to Denver. When the light turns green, please count to 15 before proceeding. 😀

Yep. If I'm the first or second car at a light, I'm always taking a good look first.

I have a dark fantasy on occasion - it involves a large POS truck with chunks of railroad track for bumpers & slider bars. When the light turns green I hit it. Drive around all day looking for assholes who run lights 😛
