CNR cards, anyone have any experience with them?

I'm thinking about getting a CNR card or two to test and see what they are like. I have only been able to find 4 different cards on the market. There are two modem cards (PCtel & Archtek), one network card (intel) and 2 sound cards (both Hercules).

Has anyone had any experience with any of these cards or others?

since the cost of these cards is pretty cheap, i thought i would get a sound card and modem and try them out.

You FOUND some? wow, your ahead or the game! 🙂

From all I've heard (having never seen one) they are a real basic control card that adds the basic function to the mobo. Your CPU provides all the brains and brawn. Duno, if you want to experiment with them and have te extra cash for them, go for it. I'd rather spend my extra cash on another HD or a better Vid card, or more memory.

actually the cost is that expensive. the highest cost item i found was the intel network card for $35. The sound cards were either 12 or 19 and the modems were 8 & 9.

So i will probably pick up a couple of the items just to test them and see what they are like. I knew that they used the CPU for processing but i've been curious about how the performed.
